Their mission is to help women from prison systems discover their own strength by providing them with the support and resources that will empower them to become responsible, economically self-sufficient and contributing members of the community.

Wayside Youth & Family Support Network, Inc.

The mission of Wayside is to “Empower children, young adults, and families to achieve greater independence and emotional well-being.” Their core values are strength, hope and resiliency. Wayside believes in a strength-based approach, focusing on affirmative and inspirational strategies that promote sustainable change. They believe in the power of hope as a central factor in providing motivational resources necessary for change. Shared hope for a positive future is the underpinning of all that they do. Positive expectations promote psychological and physical well-being. Staff focus on developing hope-inspiring strategies that mobilize resources for sustaining healthy change. They firmly believe all people have the inherent ability to rebound, learn, and grow from life’s difficult experiences; they are supportive partners as people engage in the process of personal change.

The mission of Walker is to transform the lives of children and youth who are facing complex emotional, behavioral, and learning challenges by partnering with these children and youth, their families, and communities to nurture hope, build strengths, and develop lifelong skills. Their vision is that all children will thrive in their family, school, and community.

The Center for Carceral Communities at UPenn

The mission of The Center for Carceral Communities, an initiative of the School of Social Policy & Practice at the University of Pennsylvania, is to work collaboratively with neighborhoods in West Philadelphia to help people with a history of incarceration re-engage with the community. The Center seeks to reverse the community-to-prison pipeline by helping participants harness their strengths and become leaders in the community.

The mission of Neighborhood Coalition for Shelter is to provide New Yorkers who are homeless or at risk of homelessness with a home, a community, and access to the services that they need to thrive. They create innovative solutions and engage community partners to provide housing and support that can transform lives.
